Terms of Service

You sign up via Sign in with Apple or Google. You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction). One person, one account. Keep your credentials and OAuth provider secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, are fraudulent, or pose risk to other users. You can delete your account at any time from in-app Settings.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mirror, reverse-engineer, or systematically download the Service.
• Use bots, automation, or fake accounts to inflate engagement, reviews, or referrals.
• Post content that infringes intellectual property, defames, harasses, or violates law.
• Sell or share account credentials, or attempt to bypass purchase, paywall, or rate limits.
• Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise platform security.
• Abuse, threaten, or impersonate other users or creators.

You retain ownership of the lists, places, notes, and photos you create. By publishing or selling content on Curio, you grant Curio a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. You represent you have the rights to all content you post and that it does not infringe any third party.

Creators may offer free or paid lists. Paid purchases are processed by Apple StoreKit; Apple charges its standard commission (typically 15–30%) on every transaction. After Apple's cut, Curio's platform fee is:

• Starter creators: 15% platform fee — creator keeps 85% of net.
• Pro / Verified creators: 25% platform fee on the same net (with Verified perks & placement).

Platform fees fund infrastructure, fraud prevention, payments, and creator support. Net amounts are paid out monthly via the method available in your region (TR: bank transfer, EU: SEPA, US: ACH). Minimum payout threshold is the equivalent of 50 USD in local currency.

All marketplace transactions are between you and the creator; Curio acts as the marketplace and platform but is not a party to your purchase contract with the creator unless explicitly stated.

Creators may enable a tip jar on their profile and lists. Tips are one-time, non-refundable in-app purchases processed by Apple. Tip revenue is treated identically to list revenue for fee and payout purposes. Tips are voluntary appreciation, not a promise of any good or service.

Refund requests are handled through Apple's standard process at reportaproblem.apple.com. Curio does not handle refund requests directly. Approved refunds revoke access to the purchased list. Repeated refund abuse may trigger account review.

Each user has a unique 8-character referral code. When a new user redeems your code, both users unlock the program reward (typically one free list pick or store credit equivalent), subject to anti-fraud guards:

• Account age guard: the inviter's account must be at least 60 seconds old.
• IP-match guard: redemptions from the same coarse IP as the inviter are blocked.
• Self-referral guard: a user cannot redeem their own code, directly or via alt account.
• Manual review: abnormal patterns (mass redemptions, sequential creation) are reviewed and may forfeit rewards.

Curio may modify or terminate the referral program at any time. Earned rewards already credited to your account are honored.

Curio offers a Path to Verified program that progresses creators from Starter to Pro based on quality signals: list ratings, refund rate, originality, and engagement. The program does not promise any specific income. Verified status is a discretionary mark of trust, revocable for cause, and not a partnership or employment relationship.

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, or where required by law. On termination your right to use the Service ends, but provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability limits) continue to apply.

The Curio name, logo, design system, and underlying software are owned by Curio. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use those marks, except for a non-exclusive, revocable right to use the App as provided. We respect IP rights and respond to valid takedown notices.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Travel information is provided by creators and other users; Curio does not verify accuracy, suitability, safety, accessibility, or current status of places. Always exercise your own judgment when traveling. We disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Curio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Curio in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) 50 USD.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply where they cannot be overridden by contract.

Disputes will first be addressed by informal good-faith negotiation (you may reach us at legal@curioplaces.app). If unresolved within 60 days, disputes will be submitted to the courts and execution offices of Istanbul Çağlayan, Türkiye, which the parties accept as having exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring claims in their country of residence where required by law.

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app and via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
